REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER continues its new season on Friday, January 30 (10:00–11:00 p.m. ET / 7:00–8:00 p.m. PT) on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max. The show maintains its signature format. It includes an opening monologue and one‑on‑one interviews with notable guests. There is also a roundtable with diverse panelists. The show concludes with the “New Rules” segment.
HOSTS
This week’s episode features a sit‑down interview with Nate Bargatze. He is a comedian, actor, and host of the new game show The Greatest Average American. He is also the star of the upcoming film The Breadwinner. The panel discussion will include Joe Scarborough. He is co‑host of MS NOW’s Morning Joe and author of the daily newsletter The Tea, Spilled by Morning Joe. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Republican congresswoman from Georgia, will also participate. This promises a lively and contentious political conversation.
Maher has long been recognized as one of the most independent voices in American media. He is often praised as a pioneer among outspoken commentators. These commentators operate outside strict party lines. His show remains a sought‑after platform for political figures and cultural commentators alike, frequently cited—sometimes approvingly—across the ideological spectrum.
Since headlining his first HBO special in 1989, Maher has starred in 13 solo comedy specials for the network. These include Bill Maher: Be More Cynical (2000) and I’m Swiss (2005). Additionally, Bill Maher… But I’m Not Wrong (2010), Bill Maher: Live from Oklahoma (2018), and #Adulting (2022). Across Politically Incorrect and more than twenty years of Real Time, his blend of blunt commentary is effective. His sharp humor has earned him 41 Emmy® nominations. His 13th HBO comedy special, Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?, debuted January 10, 2025, and is now available to stream on HBO Max.
