For a second year running, Emmy® Award-winning comedian, writer, and producer Conan O’Brien will host the 98th Academy Awards® broadcast. The show will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
Announcements
Executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan will return for the third consecutive year, joined by producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney, with Sweeney also serving as a writer. Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang announced their return and praised the team’s work on the previous ceremony.
Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, commended Conan O’Brien’s unique comedic style and expressed anticipation for his return.
O’Brien is renowned for hosting late-night shows including Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and Conan, and for writing on Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons. He currently hosts the podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, the MAX travel show Conan O’Brien Must Go, and stars in the film If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.
Kapoor has won Emmys for the 96th Oscars and for the variety special Adele: One Night Only, while Mullan, an executive producer and showrunner, has produced events such as the London Olympics ceremonies and The Little Mermaid Live!, earning an Emmy for the 96th Oscars. Ross and Sweeney, both producers and writers with multiple Emmy wins and nominations, round out the core producing team.
The 98th Academy Awards ceremony will be held at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be broadcast live in over 200 territories worldwide.
