Prime Video will deploy international storytelling at the heart of its 2026 strategy. It will showcase a collection of non-English original shows made to travel well internationally. The message is clear: the worldwide hits of the future may come from anywhere on earth.
Prime video’s international moment
At its inaugural “Prime Video presents: international originals” showcase in London, the company holds a presentation. Executives Kelly Day and Nicole Clemens provide insights. They show us how rapidly global viewing habits are evolving.
Personalization has contributed to the popularity of non-English films and series. Comprehensive dubbing and subtitling are available in over 30 languages. Viral spreading through social platforms has also played a role. These factors have helped non-English films and series become some of the most-watched titles on the platform.
Actually, the Spanish-language Culpables trilogy (Culpa Mia, Culpa Tuya, Culpa Nuestra) has gathered 100 million viewers globally. Remarkably, 90% of its audience is located outside Spain.
Furthermore, all three movies reached the top spot in more than 170 countries right at the debut. This is major proof. It serves as a pattern. Young-adult IP, deeply dependent on local culture, can be scaled to a global fanbase.
So, what’s coming in 2026
The 2026 pipeline will be all about bold major international appeal bets with the focus on Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
Here is the line-up:
- Love me, Love Me (Italy), a romantic film based on a breakout Wattpad phenomenon, filmed in English, targeting a global YA audience.
- The House of the Spirits (Chile), a brand-new TV adaptation of Isabel Allende classic Novel, with Nicole Wallace at the helm, bringing a 70 million copy literary legend back to the screen.
- Drawn Together (Spain) and Your fault: London (UK), continuing the “House of Ron” partnership with author Mercedes Ron, turning her best-selling YA books into a multi-territory screen universe.

- Around these sit a broader YA and franchise-driven ecosystem. This includes French romance like Toi + Moi and Seuls contre tous. It also includes German campus and nostalgia series. Brazilian and Mexican thrillers such as Beast Race and Vengeance are featured as well. Additionally, there is a third season of Betty La Fea: The Story Continues for fans of one of TV’s most enduring telenovela brands.
The “House of Ron”
Through the “House of Ron” label, Amazon MGM Studios is creating ten adaptations from Spanish author Mercedes Ron, one of which is a new U.S. project derived from 30 sunsets para enamorarte, her debut book to be adapted to the American market.
This is set next to other literary mainstays: Maxton Hall, The World Between Us from Mona Kasten in Germany, French YA series like Campus Drivers, and Italian hits adapted from Felicia Kingsley and Stefania S. The approach remains the same. First, launch with a proven reading public. Then, turn click binge into global viewership. This is achieved by leveraging Prime Video’s reach and recommendation engine.
Asia-Pacific: anime, K-drama, and Indian originals
The APAC is designed as a growth engine. Prime Video brought up:
- An exclusive anime slate, led by Fist of the North Star and new versions of The Ghost in the Shell, and the 2nd season of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, following its impressive multi-territory performance.
- A variety of Korean dramas, from psychological romance (Siren’s Kiss) to meta rom-com (Absolute Value of Romance), love stories with fantasy elements (Human x Gumiho) and traditional historical drama (The Sacred Jewel).
- Indian originals such as Don’t be Shy, a coming-of-age film centred on a female protagonist and produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine.
Prime Video’s APAC leaders described the titles not as regional. They view them as ones that have already achieved great success outside their home territories. This is especially true in the genres of anime, K-drama, and Indian serials.
