To ensure public safety, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the City of Los Angeles have finalized a series of street closures. These closures support security operations and enable the production of this year’s Oscars®.
These measures are designed to protect attendees, crews, and local residents. They also accommodate the large-scale buildout required for the awards broadcast.
Hollywood Boulevard Closures
All lanes of Hollywood Boulevard will be closed from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue. This is to allow for the construction of press risers and pre-show stages along the iconic Oscars red carpet.
This full closure will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, and motorists are advised to plan alternative routes in advance.
Public Transit Adjustments
Public transportation in the area will also be temporarily adjusted to support the event’s security perimeter and crowd management.
Beginning after the last regularly scheduled train on Saturday, March 14, MTA will reroute bus traffic, and subway trains will bypass the Ovation Hollywood station until the first scheduled train after 6 a.m. on Monday, March 16.
Additional Street and Sidewalk Restrictions
Several streets and sidewalks surrounding Ovation Hollywood will be closed for varying periods. This will occur between Sunday, March 1, and Oscars Sunday, March 15. This is to accommodate staging, equipment, arrivals, and media operations.
Residents, businesses and visitors in the area are encouraged to stay informed and allow extra travel time during this window.
Where to Find More Information
Full details of all closures are available through the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They are also available through the Thirteenth District City Council field offices. This includes specific dates, times, and maps of affected areas.
Updated information and downloadable maps can also be found on the Academy’s official website.

The ceremony will be televised live on ABC. It will also be streamed live on Hulu. Additionally, it will be broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide, reaching audiences across the globe.
