HBO Max has released the official teaser for the first season of its new original “Harry Potter” series. The series is titled HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE. The teaser was released during the HBO Max UK & Ireland launch event. This event happened ahead of the platform going live tomorrow. The eight-episode season will debut at Christmas 2026 on HBO. It will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max in all markets where the service is available. This includes recent launch territories such as Germany, Italy, and the UK & Ireland.

Logline

There is nothing special about Harry Potter – at least that’s what his Aunt Petunia always says. On his 11th birthday, a letter of admittance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens up a hidden world for Harry, one filled with fun, friendship and magic. But with this new adventure comes great danger, as Harry is forced to confront a powerful enemy from his past.

The series stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. It features John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall. Paapa Essiedu appears as Severus Snape while Nick Frost plays Rubeus Hagrid. Rory Wilmot is featured as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy. Leo Earley and Elijah Oshin act as Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas, respectively. Tristan Harland and Gabriel Harland portray Fred and George Weasley. Ruari Spooner is Percy Weasley, while Alessia Leoni is Parvati Patil. Sienna Moosah and Finn Stephens play Lavender Brown and Vincent Crabbe. William Nash acts as Gregory Goyle. Warwick Davis and Sirine Saba take on the roles of Filius Flitwick and Pomona Sprout.
