As part of BRAZIL ON FILM at BFI Southbank, the season will include a special event. The event is An Introduction to Brazil on Film. It is scheduled for 12 May. Curators Renata de Almeida and Adriana Rouanet will be joined by guests. They will present a richly illustrated overview of the programme. This overview highlights key titles and hidden gems. It also explores major movements, landmark filmmakers and the current state of Brazilian cinema. The talk will be followed by a screening of FOREIGN LAND (Terra Estrangeira, Walter Salles & Daniela Thomas, 1995). After the screening, there will be a Q&A with co‑director Daniela Thomas. Further events will be announced throughout the season.
