Executive producer and showrunner Raj Kapoor has announced the music and performance lineup for the 98th Oscars®. Executive producer Katy Mullan also made an announcement for the 98th Oscars®. The Oscars will be hosted by Conan O’Brien. They will air live on ABC and stream on Hulu. This will happen on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, preceded by the official live red carpet show at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT.
Kapoor and Mullan explained:
“This year, our music performances are inspired by two of the most powerful cultural phenomena in film: Sinners, the most nominated film in Oscars history, and KPop Demon Hunters, a global pop culture sensation. These show moments are more than just performances—they expand into cinematic tributes that celebrate the relationship between music and storytelling and why these films resonated so deeply with audiences around the world.”
“KPop Demon Hunters” – a global pop moment rooted in Korean tradition
The “KPop Demon Hunters” segment will open with a fusion of traditional Korean instrumentalists and dance. This part honors the folklore and cultural heritage that underpin the animated blockbuster’s story. This live experience will include EJAE, AUDREY NUNA and REI AMI. They are the singing voices behind the in-film group HUNTR/X. They will perform the Oscar®‑nominated original song “Golden” from the movie.
“Sinners” – music-driven cinematic tribute on the Oscars stage
The “Sinners” moment will spotlight how music drives the film’s narrative. It translates its emotional and visual language into a fully cinematic live performance on the Oscars stage. Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq will perform the Oscar‑nominated original song “I Lied To You.” They will be joined by Misty Copeland, Eric Gales, and Buddy Guy, Brittany Howard, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, and Jayme Lawson will also join them. Moreover, they are joined by Li Jun Li, Bobby Rush, Shaboozey, and Alice Smith. This is in an homage to the film’s distinctive visual and musical world.
Special appearances and more talent to come
The show will feature not only film performances but also appearances by Josh Groban and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. These performances will add choral and orchestral depth to the night’s musical palette. The producers will announce further talent and special segments as the ceremony approaches.
The 98th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. It will be televised live on ABC, and it will also be streamed live on Hulu and broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide.
