HBO and the BBC have announced the original six-episode limited series HALF MAN. It was created by Emmy®-winning writer and executive producer Richard Gadd. The series will debut this April on HBO. It will be available to stream on HBO Max in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, and on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Scotland in the UK and Ireland. The series expands Gadd’s exploration of dark, intimate relationships following the success of “Baby Reindeer,” and positions itself as one of the key drama releases of the season.

Brotherhood, violence and the fragility of male relationships

Logline: Niall and Ruben are brothers – not by blood, but as close as it gets. One is fierce and loyal, the other meek and mild-mannered. Inseparable as kids, brought into each other’s lives through death and circumstance, all they have is each other. Decades later, when Ruben suddenly shows up at Niall’s wedding, something is off: he’s on edge, shifty, not himself. An explosion of violence follows, catapulting the story back through their lives from the 1980s to today. The story spans 30 years in the lives of two broken men. HALF MAN is a six-part limited series about brotherhood, violence, and the intense fragility of male relationships. When everything breaks, the closest relationships are always the ones to be broken more often.
